Resarch Group for Nuclear Sensing
Overview
The aim of our group is to develop advanced detection systems for nuclear science and engineering. Quantum beams, such as neutrons, gamma rays, and particle beams are used for measreuments. Advanced non-destructive detection methods are being developed to determine the properties of materials.
The developed techniques are applied to nuclear engineering, and basic and applied sciences.
Development of nuclear sensing technology
Combining a neutron generator and gamm- and neutron-detection techniques, we develop advanced sensing technologies for applications of nuclear science and engineering.
Development of nuclear material measurement technologies
Techniques of nuclear materials detection and measurements are important for the nuclear nonprolification and safeguard. Techniques of nuclear material measurement with a pulsed neutron beams are being developed.
Development of trace element analysis technologies
Gamma-rays can be a clue for identifying elements in samples. We applied advanced nuclear spectroscopic techniques to trace element analysis, and proved that our method is useful for various applications.
Nuclear science experiments using advanced sensing technologies
Applying the advanced nuclear sensing technology, we are carrying out experiments on basic nuclear sciences.
